Design Pittsburgh is a signature program of AIA Pittsburgh. It’s a celebration of architecture and design, honoring those who create it.

Each year, AIA Pittsburgh hosts the Design Awards Competition open to any member of AIA Pittsburgh, AIA Middle Pennsylvania or any member of any AIA chapter across the country who has a project in the 10 county area represented by AIA Pittsburgh. The mission of the awards is to recognize and honor architects and designers, and promote excellence, innovation, and achievement in the craft of architecture.

About the People’s Choice Award

The People’s Choice Award provides the public the opportunity to vote for a favorite design project by visiting the Design Pittsburgh online exhibit. Design projects eligible for the 2011 People’s Choice Award are for design submissions in the Architecture, Historic Preservation, and Interior Architecture categories.
Votes are collected on the Design Pittsburgh website, www.pittsburghsfavoritearchitecture.com, and tallied by AIA Pittsburgh. The winning design is determined by popular votes cast and announced at the Design Awards Ceremony.
